In my last post, I told you about the WAS members' art in the Wellington Community Center. The Center also has art on its ground floor that is done by students from Wellington. This program is managed by Michelle Garvey from the City of Wellington. She rotates art through elementary school students, then middle school, then high school. Our latest show was for elementary students. Here they are with their wonderful artwork.
These students had their art on display throughout the summer. When Michelle sent our her press release about the show, it was noticed by our Congressman Ted Deutch. He sent certificates to all the students, and we presented them at our September Open House. The students were thrilled with this unexpected recognition. I'd like to congratulate all the students whose art was hanging in the Community Center: Nicholas Webber, Samuel Tobin, Jack Tobin, Zoe Chasinoff, Grady McBrayer, Allison Robbert, Summer Lyons, Victoria Avella, Genia Charles, Britney Trinemeyer, Jamie Jerchower, Lara Weiss, Charli Roseff, and Hannah Brodtman.
The next show is artwork created by high school students. You can see that now through November at the Wellington Community Center, 12150 W. Forest Hill Blvd., Wellington.
