Ursula Fernandez has a solo show of her artwork at Whole Foods Market through May 31. She's filled their cafe with 19 of her nature-inspired oil paintings.
Her 14" x 14" paintings are of endangered Florida species. Here are two of them. You'll have to see them in person to get their names, including their scientific identification.
In addition to Ursula's nature paintings, she is also know for her portraiture. You can see her skills with that technique at Wellington's City Hall and their Community Center, where they have two paintings each.
We'll be celebrating Ursula's Whole Foods show with a reception on Friday, April 26 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. We'll have music, drinks, and refreshments, all provided by Whole Foods Market. You may call them at 904-4000 to RSVP for this event. We ask for a $5 donation that will go to our WAS Scholarship Fund. We're in the middle of scholarship season, and Palm Beach County high school art students can email Suzanne Redmond at sredmond75@comcast.net for an application. The applications are due April 12.
This is just a small sneak preview of Ursula's paintings. Be sure and stop by Whole Foods to see the rest. They're absolutely beautiful.
